Current Client Conversations & Revocable Living Trust
Two key conversations this week worth talking about.
The first involved a client in Tennessee with whom we are working with her estate attorney on getting some estate planning done. No, this doesn’t involve the sunsetting for the TCJA’s high lifetime gifting limit. Rather, this involves a decision to get an Revocable Living Trust instead of a will to make sure cost base step up on date of death. Again, I am no attorney, but I can help get things done.
The second is a client who wants to acquire another business in another state. We spoke this week with an investment banker about such a transaction and each of us had follow-up work to do. Seeking prospective companies, getting valuations done and talking to business associations.
In both cases, you see, we are expanding the common description of a financial advisor as just someone who handles the financial accounts. Many of us do so much more.
